its because diablo 4 devs keep nerfing your gear and builds because of "server issues". weird d2 has server issues but they dont nerf. hmm could it be that d4 devs are lying? if you go by their external motivations id say yes, they are lying/timegating meanwhile the problem with D2 persists: loot pickup cheating via pickit program and the like, macros, etc. the game needs personal loot

The no trading part in d3 and d4 is probably to negate bots and third party resellers like the bots plague of d2 which was never fixed. although I haven't played online in a while

Just got into Diablo 1 and 2, thanks to GOG and surprisingly my physical D2 copy that works on modern hardware. I don't take this guy seriously, there's many times he gets schooled for his lack of knowledge lol. I also thank you for making me realize what makes D2 great 👍

Now that Diablo 4 is out has anything changed since this video came out

People complained about Diablo II being identical every time you played through...but although the borders of the maps might have been the same, the interiors changed...you could not predict what would be on the map or where it was. Diablo III was graphically beautiful...but every location was the same on every map. Once you played through once, you knew where everything would be...and that was good. Because if you finished your first playthrough, your next playthrough was identical. You were more powerful...and so were the enemies. But the enemies appeared in the same location at the same time and were ...almost identical. The strategies that worked on your first playthrough pretty much worked on the next. I enjoyed both games but D III became almost boring.

4:57 - Yep, I remember it from my childhood. I cant remember when exactly did it happen. If I remember correctly they were even able to harm you if you were close enough.

5:48 - Would have been cool if that paladin holy outfit was obtainable in game. For example you put The Standard of Heroes from Uber Tristram to cube, click transmute and then get permanent holy outfit so that you would look kinda like hero walking away from explosions in movies.

D2 captured lightning in a bottle that can't be replicated. Even the devs went on to make torchlight which was trash. Diablo 2 is often imitated, never equaled.
